AMT To Thunder Into Miramichi For 4 Races In 2021

After a condensed 2020 schedule due to COVID-19, the Atlantic Modified Tour thunders back into Speedway Miramichi with a full slate of excitement in 2021! As announced on Wednesday by tour social media and Tim’s Corner Motorsports, four Atlantic Modified Tour features will be contested at the track called home by over half of the competitors on the tour. With the increased number of races comes great enthusiasm, and the return of a Speedway Miramichi track championship for the division.

The first of four dates for the mighty Modifieds will be on Saturday June 19th, followed by a pair of evening shows on July 10th and August 7th. For the sixth consecutive year, the Atlantic Modified Tour points champion will be crowned on the biggest stage on the North Shore at The Very Best Fall Shootout! This event will see a full season of excitement culminate as both the tour and track champions are crowned!

With no track champion was crowned in 2020, Joe Hoyt remains the reigning Speedway Miramichi Modified Champion after claiming the crown in 2019. Local Miramichi area crowd favorite Yves McCray enters as the defending Atlantic Modified Tour Champion after bringing home the title in the shortened 2020 season. Ironically, Hoyt and McCray split wins in the pair of features contested one season ago.

Some of the biggest names in stock car racing in Miramichi will be seeking to defend home turf over their four home races, including Kim Hallihan, Zean Dutcher, Doug Matchett, Travis Conroy, Braxton Stafford, Chris Wilson, and Steven Curtis. A pair of former Mini Stock drivers from the Miramichi region in Michael Savoie and Conrad Murphy will challenge for rookie of the year.

Several challengers from other parts of the Maritimes will be looking to challenge in Miramichi, led by Brandon Skidmore, Kevin Bailey, Jamie Weston, Doug MacEwen and Brody Levesque.
