Speedway Miramichi

THE DEMOLITION CAPITAL OF CANADA

When it comes to Demolition Derbies, nobody does it like Speedway Miramichi does! Our must-experience events feature the wildest drivers smashing and crashing through a Figure 8 race, a Back-Up race, a Dash for Cash, and several other wild and crazy events to qualify for the grand finale - the Demolition Derby! Each event throughout the season is unique with different attractions - with many events drawing 30 plus (in some cases 60 plus!) drivers to battle for glory!

For over 50 years, grassroots stock car racing has been a fixture at Speedway Miramichi! Speedway Miramichi plays host to primarily four divisions of stock car racing. From Street Stocks to Bombers, Mini Stocks, and the Atlantic Modified Tour, we are proud to promote and grow the finest grassroots racing around! Speedway Miramichi hosts major regional grassroots stock car events including The Very Best Fall Shootout which features a Street Stock 100!

OUR HISTORY

Since 1968, Speedway Miramichi has thrilled and entertained fans in New Brunswick. Opening in June 1968 originally as Miramichi Speedway, the oval in the former town of Douglastown has hosted many races for over a half century. Through various changes in management and ownership, the track has continued to thrive and survive while hosting stock car racing and demolition action.

The modern era for Speedway Miramichi began in 2012 when Jason Carnahan and David Neilson purchased and refurbished the facility. In July 2015, locals Barry and Shelby Richard purchased the facility and continue to run it to this day.
